Hoof tar is a product that has long been used for the care of the frog and the hoof sole of the horse. The tar prevents moisture, dirt, and bacteria from penetrating the hoof. It is therefore very important to apply hoof tar on a clean sole and clean frog, preferably immediately after trimming. This way, you avoid trapping dirt under the tar.

Thoroughly clean the sole and the frog. Then apply a thin layer of hoof tar to the dry hoof sole, especially in the frog grooves. Repeat if necessary.
